Well it looks like Ernie Lamont and Chris Schnurr are tied for last place. LMAO.
Sam Sinjari
3/19/2010 11:17:10 AM

The safest ship in a mighty storm is a "Leadership" meet Sam Sinjari! It is time for a positive and confident change and a new outlook in leadership in order to help Windsor to grow and become stronger and stable economically. A good mayoral candidate will have confidence and inspire others to have confidence in that candidate but a true determined leader like Sinjari will inspire others to have confidence in themselves. Sam understands that we need a more flexible and diverse economy with increases in light industry commerce tourism agriculture and the service industry. These increases will take Windsor in a new and positive direction protecting and improving our quality of life and our essential services to seniors the less fortunate and all of those who depend on the city for protection and comfort. Leadership is action not position. We also need to provide Windsors youth with more opportunities to learn work and become a part of our community and to help inspire others to dream more learn more do more and become more. Windsor needs leaders not followers and needs someone to stand behind this city with changes that will introduce endless opportunities because nothing is more expensive than a missed opportunity for a municipality that needs to grow. Windsor needs someone with the ability to recognize a situation before it becomes an emergency. We need to understand that there is no positive achievement without goals and proper action plans with the right goals we can control the direction of change in our citys favour We need to assist our existing manufacturers and producers in expanding their businesses as well as encouraging new businesses to establish themselves in Windsor to create jobs and generate new tax revenue in order to help offset property taxes and allow those on fixed and low incomes to live more comfortably. Windsor needs to thrive and move forward today! Windsor has so much potential lets wake up that SLEEPING GIANT VOTE SAM SINJARI FOR MAYOR !!! WWW.VOTESAM.CA WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/USER/VOTESAM2010

Just read J.Percys submision. 100 percent true. I will be voting for anyone but Francis. He doesnt care about Windsor just himself.

Any union member who thinks the way Eddie negotiated this summer was appreciated should turn in their union cards immediately. Regardless of the final contract the process was abysmal. You do not micro-manage negotiations you dont negotiate in the media and worst of all you DONT SEND managers to a ratification vote for ANY reason. If as a union member you feel those things are acceptable you certainly have no idea what collective bargaining is all about. Further if you feel that giving up more than the union was asking for in the begining is a great outcome for the city you should go back to elementary school and brush up on your mathematics. It is now undeniable that there was a less expensive deal for the taxpayers very early on. Unfortunately a respectful negotiation with a reasonable conclusion doesnt make for great headlines in the Mayors personal propaganda rag The Star. The residents and workers were held hostage by Eddie and The Star in order to build his reputation. He spent our money to achieve his personal ambitions. The sad part is that more Windsorites havent been smart enough to see this very real fact.

Chris Holt? A one-trick pony.
Council Watcher
1/25/2010 7:44:18 AM

to 1/22/2101 - You really dont pay much attention do you? Holt is more active as a community volunteer than the vast majority of our elected representatives! He has done more for our community (and not just enviro issues - thats SO 2001!) than most people on this list.

Bill Marra where has he been? Is he still even on council? Why has he been so low key? If Eddie runs Marra will not run that gives Eddie a huge lead!!

Chris Holt are you serious people? he is nothing but a tree hugger.

Chris Holt youre the MAN!!!!!:) Id vote for you in a heartbeat. Somethings seriously got to change! This ineptitude cant continue.

1/13/2010 12:44:16 PM

Do any of the anti-union voters (not that they care about facts) your hero Eddie Francis gave away the farm and ensured that PRBs will be an issue yet again in the next contract? Tell me what did he save taxpayers today? Ill tell you ZERO. No - you just celebrate him because he took a hard-line stance on a non-issue. Hook and line sinker. Congrats. That tells me all I need to know.

1/8/2010 1:40:10 PM

As another union member (but not CUPE) I can assure mr. Percy that Eddie did not lose that battle. Eddie Francis won in colours and not only that but that victory will encourage electors sick and tired of CUPE B.S. to put him right back into office for Term No. 3 so he can finish the job.

I truly hope Big Pat Ryan runs for Big Changes in this city finally.

I was never a big supporter of Eddie in fact I always supported Bill for Mayor. I am still going to vote for Bill because I think Windsor needs some change but I have a new respect for Eddie. I respect him for standing his ground and not buckling down to CUPEs demands. Unions are big bullies and they should be ashamed of the way they behaved during the strike. Eddie was tough and thats what might make him win again.

Re: Mike As a union member I assure you Mike that Eddies actions were definately not appreciated during the City/CUPE labour dispute. The mayor lost that battle horribly. The city gave up far more dollars than they needed to. Further the elimination of Post-retirement benefits for new hires saved no money for taxpayers whatsoever. If you cared enough to know the truth you would seek information beyond The Windsor Star whom Eddie has in his pocket.

I voted for Francis last time but NEVER AGAIN. His personally-motivated vindictivness in dealing with the city strike was disgusting. He will pay for what he did to our city. I will volunteer for the candidate most likely to beat him. Good bye King Eddie
Mike
1/1/2010 12:09:30 PM

Eddie should run for a 3rd term because he will win it again. His leadership during CUPEs ridiculous strike that disrespected almost every Windsorite was appreciated by most unionized and non-unionized workers alike.

1/1/2010 8:53:40 AM

"If everyone but Bristers votes are added to those of Marra..." Sorry Ed it doesnt work that way.

12/29/2009 6:43:44 PM

A.B.E. As of December 29 Eddie has only about 36% of the total vote. If everyone but Bristers votes are added to those of Marra (since they would never go to Francis) Bill is the new Mayor. Even splitting the vote will not work for Eddie. Bye Bye Eddie!

I challenge Eddies supporters to give one concrete example of jobs that Eddie brought to Windsor. Im not talking about $11/hr call centre jobs that are subsidized by tax dollars from the province. Im talking about real jobs that you can feed your family and maybe own a home with. Now if you happen to be a friend or relative of "his worship" youve got it made in the shade.

Marra is far more intelligent than Eddie. Eddie wants to fight everyone. The lawyers and consultants get rich on my dime while Windsor languishes. Thats not leadership its ego.

12/18/2009 7:30:27 PM

With Brister Cook and Marra splitting the anti-Eddie vote three ways Eddie will win.

12/17/2009 7:20:28 AM

Rob who posted at 12/15/2009 4:08:21 PM doesnt have a clue wtf he is talking about.Eddie Francis has NOT created any jobs for the city who has the highest unemployment in the country.Bill Marra for Mayor

All the candidates are great at what they do im sure but Eddie Francis brings something to the table that none of these other candidates have which is BRAINS. You got my vote Mr. Eddie Francis. A Look to a changing future of this city

Which civil servants were "actually fired" Rob? I say its time we "actually fired" Eddie Francis...thats a "thinking persons" perogative.
Rob
12/15/2009 4:08:21 PM

Eddie Francis did what few other mayors have the guts to do he actually fired civil servants who werent performing. What a novel idea! And he refused to see Windsor counted down and out: he has pushed for new works projects to bring jobs and reinvigorate the city at a time when it needed it most. This is a guy who gets things done. Eddie Francis is the thinking persons candidate no question.

A true leader has innate qualities of vision courage and wisdom not arrogance audacity and combativeness.
CJ
12/13/2009 9:50:32 AM

A true leader is one who has the courage and ability to stand up and make the difficult decisions when they need to be made. A true leader inspires and encourages the best in others. Windsor needs a mayor who will stand up for the interests of all residents through community building and empowerment without using divide and conquer tactics of old.

12/12/2009 1:29:49 PM

A true leader is one who has the courage and ability to stand up and make the difficult decisions when they need to be made. Stay the course Eddie despite the back office politicking positioning fear mongering and back stabbing. Windsor needs a mayor who will stand up for the interests of all residents without fear of hurting the feelings of an old circle who resist change and forward thinking.

People hoping for change had better come together and pick one. Stand together with all of our various strengths behind ONE and ONE ONLY. Let the canal and all those affiliated with it guide us. Rejected by Council FOUR times and still front & centre on the City website - "Come look at our plans!" Repeatedly coming out to haunt us. In the midst of a recession! Clearly this city is NOT being managed by Council but by one individual with his cronies who demand their way. It is Council who must guide our city by reflecting resident desires not one little man with his cronies. No to one little man. No to these cronies. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

So what is the solution for the present city hall which allegedly is responsible for instability has a reputation for conflict expensive termination settlements high turnover of experienced management and has seen Windsor be ranked as one of the worst-run cities in Canada -- 28th out of 31 cities surveyed? Get Rid Of Eddie.
